A little room, for a lot of caring!

"Hope Happens Here" was written and recorded for the Riley Children's Foundation, part of the Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana.

As a Riley family, we are all too familiar what it is like to have a hospital become your second home.  This song perfectly puts into words what it feels like, the thoughts that go through parents heads, the feelings and emotions that are experienced.

My family first heard this song at a fund raising event for the Riley Childrens Foundation that we were asked to speak at, as a Riley Family.  Ever since that day, the song has been listened to on a regular basis, so much so, that it is a favorite of our five year old son, and he loves to sing right along!

What is amazing about the whole thing, is that the Adam Craig Band is more connected to us than we first thought.  The Adam Craig Band has been a strong supporter of race car driver John Andretti's "Race 4 Riley", an annual event.  It was around the time of that event a few years ago that Mr. Andretti visited our son Braden at Riley, giving him a small toy car, and planting the seed for Nathan's Playroom!  (You can read about it on the "Our Story" page).

I want to thank the Adam Craig Band for their willingness to share "Hope Happens Here" with Nathan's Playroom, and allow me to make it a part of the program.

"Hope Happens Here"

You never get the chance to prepare yourself,
Even if you had there is no way to tell,
If it would be easier to know your world is turning upside down...

Its just so hard to look up when your falling,
And you can’t even start til your at the bottom,
Down on your knees praying you’re not alone,
Asking God for a little HOPE,
Then you find it...

Here, on a new strangers face,
That just got the news they’re in the same wait,
Hope happens here,
In the hearts and the hands of the people doing all they can,
Hope Happens Here...
Hope Happens Here...

So your finding that you never have to fight alone,
And there’s no way to repay the love that is shown,
In a hallway, that feels more like a home,
To always know that wherever you go,
You’ll be right here,

In a 10 year olds smile, that lights up the room as he walks by,
Hope Happens Here,

In the songs that you sing as your rockin your baby to sleep,
Hope Happens Here...
Hope Happens Here...

When you fight til you swear that you’ve had enough,
But there's no way you’d ever think of givin up,
Hope Happens Here...

On that same strangers face that just got the news they're going home today,
Hope Happens Here...
In a young mothers eyes that just realized they've won,
Hope Happens Here...
Hope Happens Here...
